Posion, Posion Ivy

Okay so I love Poison Ivy, or rather I love any strong female character that doesn't try to say that they're "girl power" when discussing they're sexuality. But Poison Ivy like a few others is like "I'm hot, so what, I'm going to use it against you & maybe kill you". Honestly though I don't like the way she's drawn in comics now-a-days, but when Bruce Timm use to draw her for the animated series I loved her. So I drew her Bruce Timm style. With two versions:

Tofu In The Morning

The site is up for the web-comic-strip I'm doing. And I've chosen a name too! "Tofu In The Morning" I got the name from a friend after doing a few brainstorming sessions. The site will update weekly (at a minimum), I want to try and get 5 - 10 comics uploaded within the next two weeks to give something for people to read (or that is my goal lol). Misadventures of Tofu: What Are You?

I got excited about getting the foodie comic started so I got the 1st one done faster than expected. Hopefully it's gives you a taste of the characters.

Foodies

Besides the Alice in Wonderland manga I'm working on (have two pages fully done so far, btw), I'm also starting to work on a cartoon style comic strip. It's mainly going to be based around a loud mouthed, wise cracking, angry Tofu.... because you know they must have issues since they don't taste like anything and they're only a substitute for the real deal.

Alice In Wonderland Story

My favorite fairytale would be Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, rather known as "Alice in Wonderland". So to work on my writing skills I'm going to do my own Alice in Wonderland story. I'm planning on doing a full text version & a manga. Clearly the manga will take longer but I'm aiming to get one page out a week (at least) and start uploading them to smackjeeves. But here is the cover for the 1st chapter of the text story. Enjoy!

Environment Piece

Finally finished this piece; I've been knit-picking at it for days now. I still might go back and add a few things (like a fore-ground) but I think it's time to move on. It's an environment/concept piece for ROC 2... if we decided to go work on that lol. Mainly I wanted to try doing an environment piece since I don't normally.

WIP Sketches

 

I have a tendency to work on multiple things at a time, I was once told "if you focus on something for too long you won't make any progress"...which pretty much is equivalent to "a watch pot won't boil". So I like to multi-task when I get frustrated on a piece, sketching all the time and transferring a few to the digital realm. I currently have about 5 or so things I'm working on and these are two of them. 

The top sketch is suppose to follow the idea of "Not everyone has a happy ending" but I'm also thinking of just turning into an Alice n' Wonderland piece. The bottom is just a piece I did while listening to some music...truthfully I didn't want to make a lower half of the girl's body but I did anyway, but b/c it shows I think I'll cut it off and just focus on the top half for the final product.

I'm almost done with something, so hopefully I'll have it up tomorrow if I can focus & something doesn't come up, till then cheers!

Chibis

So I'm not really into chibis... I tend to find them more creepy than adorable, but the other day I was imagining a few of my best friends in chibi form so I decided to go through w/it. They turned out cute...not what I had in mind but cute none the less :)

To The Old

To continue with uploading some of the old, here are a few old animations that I did for "Rise of Chaos". *The last GIF uploaded weird so click on it for better quality.

Also here is a small sprite sheet for Kaida, mind you that these aren't all the animations for her in the game, just some of my favorites & the necessities. I'll probably will upload a few more animations...depends on whether I get the game up here soon.

Some Quick Sketches

So the other night I saw this picture of X-23 and started sketching...well that doesn't have too much to do with this but I ended up not drawing her and instead drew a quick 10 min sketch of Kaida. It came out good...even though some of the anatomy is weird even for a cartoon. But since I liked it I decided to do two more tonight & decided to make a quick logo out of it...so here you go!

Also I'm going to be uploading a whole bunch of old stuff soon...yep.

So Let's Start Here

Okay so welcome all. I don't really know what to say...so I'll give you guys a little bio and some art from the game I finished working on with a group of friends this last November.

I'm Thomas, an artist and a game designer. Artistically wise I tend to draw more in a cartoon style, but I'm slowly attempting to break free form that. Recently I just graduated with my AS degree and I'm going to be using this blog as a sort of online portfolio until I find something I want to use instead. But besides art pieces I'll also be uploading some writing samples...hopefully. To start here are two character concept sketches I did for the game "Rise Of Chaos" of the main character Kaida.



I'm working on some other pieces right now, but I'm still planning on going back to these and updating them with color and some other things. Oh and about the game, if I can I'll upload it here...if not I'll post a link hopefully all in the near future.
